MUMBAI: Star Plus’ popular drama Jhanak continues to dominate the Indian television landscape, consistently holding its spot among the top five most-watched shows since its debut last year.
With standout performances from Hiba Nawab and Krushal Ahuja, the series has cultivated a loyal following and remains a regular fixture on the TRP leaderboard.
Recently, the show found itself at the centre of speculation following reports of an upcoming narrative leap, which hinted at a refreshed plotline and a complete cast overhaul.

The rumoured development left fans concerned, particularly those who have grown deeply attached to Hiba Nawab’s powerful portrayal of the titular character, fearing it might signal her exit.
However, in a relief to viewers, the much-talked-about leap has now been pushed back. Sources close to the production have revealed that the storyline shift is now slated to take place after the conclusion of the IPL season, allowing the existing plot more time to evolve naturally.
Adding to the swirl of rumours, there was buzz that Ghum Hai Kisikey Pyaar Meiin fame Aishwarya Sharma was set to join the cast post-leap. Addressing the reports directly, Aishwarya has now clarified her stance.
Speaking to the media, she stated, “Yes, I was approached for the show, but I ultimately chose not to take up the role as it didn’t feel like the right fit for me.”
While her decision may disappoint fans eager to see her back on screen, it’s clear that Aishwarya continues to be one of television’s most admired talents. Viewers remain hopeful that her return to the small screen is just around the corner.
As Jhanak continues to capture hearts with its engaging storytelling and strong character arcs, fans can look forward to more twists ahead albeit with a slightly delayed timeline.
Stay tuned for the latest updates from the world of television, OTT, and cinema!
