After the entire Mita Vashisht controversy, chaos, confusion and cacophony has again hit the set of Kaala Teeka (Zee TV and DJ’s A Creative Unit)!!!
In what could be termed as the ‘height of unprofessional behaviour’, actor Bhupinder Singh lost his senses and slapped, in broad daylight, 55 year old production head of Kaala Teeka, Rajendra Upadhyay.
So what really happened? Why a slapgate drama on the set?
Here’s serving details:
“Today morning, Bhupinder asked for a cosmetic solution used to enhance looks for actors. The call time was early and shops were yet to open for the requirement to be met. He got jittery and started throwing a fit. The production team apologised for the inconvenience and asked Bhupinder to be patient and commence shooting till the time the shops open. An angry Bhupinder summoned production head Rajendra and hurled abuses. When confronted, Bhupinder pushed and slapped Rajendra, much to everyone’s surprise.”
The incident sent the cast and crew in a tizzy and shooting came to a screeching halt.
The issue was escalated to the producer and federation level, and Bhupinder now has to face the consequences of his brash behaviour.
We have learnt that The Federation (FWICE) immediately came into action and noting the gravity of the scenario decided to ban Bhupinder from any professional assignment for the next three months.
When we spoke to Kamlesh Pandey, President of FWICE, he asked us to call later to share details.
Producer Tony Singh shared: “The incident is not acceptable. I condemn it. End of the day we producer suffer as shooting gets stalled. We all are like a family on the set and we should maintain mutual respect and decorum.”
Rajendra, the victim, too spoke to us: “I am saddened by the behaviour. I have been working in the industry for the last 20 years with DJ’s. Never ever someone behaved so rudely with me. People should be professional, not get personal. I was not being arrogant, I was trying to help him, but he chose to be brash.”
Bhupinder, after lending a patient ear to our queries, sounded a bit perplexed and chose not to comment. He must have realised the depth of his folly.
CINTAA too was approached to intervene in the fiasco, and currentky they are reviewing the complaint.
Amit Behl, Member of Dispute Committee CINTAA said: “Yes, it’s true that Bhupinder slapped a production guy on the set. Well, the shoot got to a standstill, and the entire union team got there to take action. The Federation (FWICE) has taken action already, and the actor has been banned for three months. Bhupinder is now coming to the CINTAA office to meet us. But we do not know whether the ban can be revoked. It is a Catch 22 situation as the producers do not even have today’s telecast ready, and that means the actor cannot shoot. CINTAA will never want the producers to suffer, but this is indeed a tricky situation. We will keep you updated on the outcome of the meeting with Bhupinder.”
J D Majethia, Co Chairman IFTPC, is also lending his guidance and experience to resolve the issue: “We don’t want the producer to suffer. Violence is not accepted and we will figure out a way to deal with the scenario.”
Tellychakkar.com will soon come up with more details on the same.
