MUMBAI: Veteran television actor Pankit Thakker, a familiar face to Indian audiences, continues to captivate viewers with his nuanced performances and enduring screen presence.
With a career spanning over two decades, he has been part of numerous acclaimed shows, including Special Squad, Dill Mill Gayye, and more recently, Barsatein – Mausam Pyaar Ka.
Now, Pankit is all set to return to the small screen in Zee TV’s much-anticipated series Saru, where he will portray a key role that promises to bring both emotional depth and complexity to the narrative.
In an exclusive conversation with TellyChakkar, the seasoned actor spoke candidly about his character, Chandru, and the emotional intricacies involved in bringing him to life.
“Portraying Chandru has been a real challenge,” Pankit shared. “He’s a man caught between a turbulent past and a strained present. His first marriage with Saroja has left emotional scars, and now his relationship with his second wife, Urmila, is far from easy. On top of that, he’s trying to be a good father to his daughters, Anika and Saru, while grappling with his own internal conflicts. It’s a delicate balancing act.”
He went on to add, “As the story unfolds and elements from Chandru’s past resurface, his world only grows more complicated. What drew me to this role was the chance to truly explore the complexities of human emotion and relationships. I’m always looking for roles that challenge me as an actor, and this one offers a rich emotional landscape to work with.”
Expressing gratitude for the opportunities he’s received throughout his career, Pankit noted, “I feel fortunate that the industry continues to trust me with layered, meaningful roles. I’m in a phase of my life where I’m eager to push creative boundaries and embrace characters that resonate with authenticity.”
