MUMBAI: Veteran actress Usha Nadkarni, a celebrated name in Indian film, television, and theatre, has recently reflected on one of the most challenging chapters of her career  her stint on Bigg Boss Marathi Season 1.

Known for her exceptional performances in both Hindi and Marathi entertainment, Usha is best remembered for her iconic portrayal of Savita Deshmukh in the hit television drama Pavitra Rishta, a role that earned her widespread acclaim and numerous awards.

With a career spanning numerous successful projects across mediums, the actress was last seen showcasing a different side of her talent in Celebrity MasterChef, where she won over the judges and audiences alike with her impressive culinary skills.

However, in a recent candid interview, Usha shared her regrets about participating in Bigg Boss Marathi, calling it a decision she now views as a mistake. Recalling her experience in the house, she admitted, “Those 77 days on Bigg Boss nearly drove me mad. It affects your mind. I don’t know about others, but it certainly impacted me.”

Describing her return home after the show, she revealed how disoriented she felt. “When I got home, I stood at the door and my brother opened it.

I asked him, ‘Has the hall become smaller?’ He said, ‘No, you’ve just spent time in a massive house, so now this one feels small.’” The disconnection from the outside world had taken a toll on her. “I’d even forgotten how to dial a phone number. Everything had slipped from my memory,” she confessed.

She went on to say, “Everyone loses their mind in there. It was a terrible experience for me. If I’m ever approached again, I will politely refuse — with folded hands.”

It’s clear that while Usha Nadkarni has braved many roles on screen and stage, her time in the Bigg Boss house remains an experience she would rather leave behind.

Her honest reflection offers a rare glimpse into the emotional toll reality television can take, even on the most seasoned performers.
