MUMBAI: Imlie is one of the top-most shows and the audience loves the track of the show. The people are loving the chemistry between Imlie and Atharva.
Karan Vohra plays the role of Atharva on the show and the fans are loving his performance.
Karan made his acting debut with Zindagi Ki Mehek, portraying Shaurya Khanna. He later portrayed Dr. Veer Sahay in Krishna Chali London opposite Megha Chakraborty. In 2021, he portrayed ACP Raghav Shastri in Pinjara Khubsurti Ka.
Tellychakkar recently got in touch with the actor and got to know interesting insights.
Before the leap on the show, the previous cast members received a lot of love. Do you feel a sense of pressure to live up to the set standards?
“We feel very privileged to be a part of such a great team, such a great show, and a channel. Everything was all set for us already. We were given a complete platter. Yes, the pressure was there to maintain the TRP. It was like the relay race, they had given us the baton and we had to run with it. Initially, we are following up with the TRPs every week, we keep going up and that is what gives us confidence. It makes us feel that we should take one step at a time and the story is being liked by the audience. It takes time to absorb the new characters.”

Your character Atharva is always unable to take a concrete stance about Imlie. He sometimes takes her stand, while sometimes lashes out. How do you feel about playing such a character?
“He is blindly in love with Chini. He does not have feelings for Imlie but somewhere down the line, he thinks she is a nice and honest girl. Gradually, he will feel that whatever Chini speaks about Imlie to Atharva, is a big misunderstanding and even question Chini about it. The character is in his initial stage where he is in love with Chini and is willing to do anything for her. He will come to know what is black and what is white.”
Who do you gel with the most on the set?
“I gel with everybody on the set. I have worked with Megha in Krishna Chali London so there is a comfort between us. During the rehearsals as well, we know each other’s comfort zones. It becomes very easy for an actor that way. I share a really good equation with Seerat too. We are good friends off-screen now and we talk a lot. Our director suggests to us that the more we talk and get comfortable with each other, the better. It will be better for us on-camera. Initially, the actors don’t talk off-screen. They only focus on work and it shows that they are just saying dialogues. Apart from the cast, I am an off-camera person. I tend to gel up with the whole crew.”
