Post Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 5 handsome and sexy Karan Wahi is on the lookout for something interesting. “I am in talks with a number of people, so let’s see what happens.”
As for doing more reality shows, he says, “I will only do dance genre again if it comes with a twist. Sadly the song and dance routine seems to be dominating the non-fiction TV space today. So, the only other option is a cookery show and that is not my cup of tea.”
Here, Karan who plays a lot of sports (football) shares, “I would be ready to be a part of Fear Factor: Khatron Ke Khiladi if it happens again and I am chosen for the same (Colors skipped this action show this year.)
Coming to his Jhalak journey Karan says, “I thoroughly enjoyed it. Many people were under the wrong notion, that I was a trained dancer. I really had to work hard but by God’s grace I really raised the bar and even surprised myself. Getting good comments from the judges was a high.”
How did you feel when you were finally eliminated? “Nobody likes to lose, but being a sports man I also know that you can’t always win. Having said that the fact that before my elimination I got a thirty, made me feel that I had much more to offer.”
He also admits that being popular TV stars did give contestants like him and others (Gurmeet Choudhary and Rashmi Desai) an advantage over others in audience voting. “I was not voted out by the audience but in a face-off with Rithvik Dhanjani who was a better dancer than me through judge’s ranking. To my credit though, the judges said there was hardly any difference in our performances in my last outing on the Jhalak dance floor. Let’s also face it that the event’s winner Gurmeet has a very strong fan following… may be more than Rashmi as well.”
This wild card entry in the show also felt a bit hurt when he was constantly asked if late entrants had an advantage. “We did not have any advantage for the earlier contestants had more practice time and plus the initial rounds had dance performances which did not last for more than a minute, while when we came they were extended to around 2.5 minutes. Despite this fact that final six included all the three wild card entries (He, Rashmi and Rithvik).
In closing, we asked Karan if there was a chance of him making a comeback in Kuch Toh Log Kahenge (Sony Entertainment Television). “No clue…I have not been around for the past six months when my track ended in this mature Sony love story. Producer Rajan Shahi (Director’s Kut) had told me that he would call me back if any interesting story developed around my character Rohan. But at the same time he also told me to take up any other good show, if it came along.”
Karan…have a great career ahead!!!
