MUMBAI: According to a leading publication, Maninee De and Mihir Misra’s marriage hit the rock bottom. Married in the year 2004 and lived together for sixteen long years together, the couple has been living separately and decided to take this step on an amicable basis. As per reports in Times of India, while Maninee continues to stay in Mumbai with her daughter Dianoor, from her first wedlock, Mihir has left Mumbai and has moved in to stay with his parents in Pune.

Actress Maninee in conversation with Bombay Times confirmed the same. Maninee and Mihir have been living separately from past six months, but she did not reveal the deets of their separation as they are too personal. Though she mentions giving out their best to hold on to it, she feels the outcome was not in their hands. She said, “Marriage, like any other relationship, has its highs and lows. Yes, it’s true that Mihir and I have been living separately for six months. The reasons for our separation are too personal to be divulged. Also, I respect the sacredness and sanctity of our relationship. We gave it our best, but the outcome isn’t in our hands.”

While many speculated that this marriage would barely survive for three weeks, Maninee credits their love, care and compassion which kept them together for 16 years. However, according to her every relationship with passing time evolves but in their case as it evolved it took them on different paths with different pace. “Many people had given our marriage just three weeks, but it lasted 16 years. It means that we had a lot of love, care and compassion for each other. However, relationships and people evolve with time. In our case, we evolved at different paces and our paths diverged. I have an aesthetic way of looking at life. Maybe, we had a karmic debt and it lived out its course,” says Maninee.

Talking about the assumptions people had about their wedlock, she feels sad, she says, “It’s even more sad, because a lot of people felt that ours was a fairy-tale romance. What was most beautiful about our bond was that we were friends first and then partners. I hope that our friendship survives this ordeal. Having said that, happiness is essential for every human being and it shouldn’t be compromised on, at any cost.”

Wishing Mihir luck for his life, she did not confirm about getting divorced, she said, “I wish Mihir all the very best. It’s been 16 wonderful years with him. I would request the media to respect our privacy and let us heal with grace. I don’t know and can’t say anything about it at this point. We haven’t spoken about it.”
