Mona Wasu talks about her debut movie Maazii

Television actor Mona Wasu who was last seen in Iss Jungle Se Mujhe Bachao, of which she was also the winner, is now all set to make her silver screen debut with a movie called Maazii. Directed by Jaideep Chopra, Maazii, which means past in Urdu, will hit theaters on 27 September. Speaking about her role, an exuberant Mona says, “I play the role of a simple, peace-loving wife in the movie who is happily married to her husband. But unfortunately, some nasty turn of events take place in her life which tests her entire identity in itself.” Mona who is back into the scheme of things after a brief hiatus says that the so-called sabbatical was purposely taken. “I wanted a break from television so I was just taking some time off. But that doesn’t mean that I was not working. I always wanted to do some theater work and was involved in plays with Saurabh Shukla,” stresses Mona while also admitting that she had been receiving movie offers since a long time but had not accepted them as she felt she was not mature enough to handle them earlier. The movie also has Sumeet Nijhawan of Jannat 2 fame play the lead opposite Mona. Also in the movie is Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub who was last seen in Raanjhana, playing an important role. Although the film doesn’t have any major A-listers, Mona is not too much worried. She, on the other hand, thinks she is the complete newcomer as others have already etched their footprints in the film world. Neither does she have any qualms about wearing a bikini or kissing on-screen. “I have kissed in this movie,” says Mona before adding that she is also cool about wearing a bikini. “I don’t want to use the clichéd line that I will wear a bikini if the role demands. I should find it really casual when it comes to wearing a bikini without the intention of titillating the audience,” emphasizes Mona. Well looking the way she raised the temperatures in Iss Jungle Se Mujhe Bachao in her one piece swimsuit, we are sure she will sizzle even more in a shimmering two piece. Are filmmakers listening?
