Lakshay Khurana, who was born and brought in Delhi, opened up about the same to a leading daily. He told TOI, “I was working out in a gym and a guy there offered to click my portfolio. He then gave me a few modeling contacts in Delhi. Since I had my portfolio, I thought to give it a try and sent my photographs to several agencies. I got a positive response and then I thought of moving to Mumbai for a while and trying my luck there since a lot of people advised me to do the same. After coming to Mumbai, I was lucky enough to get my first show Meri Hanikarak Biwi, after giving several auditions.”

Lakshay Khurana, a Bachelors in Business Administration, went on to bag shows like Naagin Season 4 and Humkadam.

He lost his dad a few years ago. "My father always supported me in my decisions. I wanted to be a cricketer first, so he got the best bats for me. He used to pamper me like crazy and would always invest in my dreams. Unfortunately, he passed away from a sudden cardiac arrest when I was doing my first TV show. When my first paycheque came, my dad wasn't there. It was really heartbreaking for me. Having a father makes a lot of a difference. The day he passed away I turned a man from a boy. I used to be a spoilt kid, papa ke account se paise nikaal ke and I would spend it. I had a great life. But when he passed away, I got to know about the debts he had and the pressure he was facing. And I took all that responsibility on my shoulders. A lot of things have changed for me after he passed away. I became a lot more sincere towards my work. Also, since now I belong to an industry which is quite unpredictable in terms of work, I plan to have a backup plan in place."
