MUMBAI: Actress Dhruvee Haldankar, who is currently being seen in Vignaharta Ganesh, has got her inspiration from her father Deepak Haldankar. He started his career working in feature films with producer and cinematographer, the late Nariman A. Irani and had assisted him in films like Talash, Maharaja, Balidan & Pakazeea. Haldankar also worked with cinematographers Anwar Siraj, Joe D'souza, A Salam, and Dara Engineer. Dhruvee says,” Since my childhood, I have seen my father cleaning and adjusting his camera and lenses. I remember I used to carry his camera bag and apparatus to the set and that helped develop my interest. My father is the first cinematographer who has been to Antarctica and he was there for six months. He filmed a scientific expedition. He has climbed Mount Everest twice along with Bachendri Pa and Sharavati Prabhu. He is also someone who has worked as an official photographer to prime ministers like Rajiv Gandhi and Indira Gandhi. My father has travelled 127 countries and has been a part of 5000 documentaries. He currently lives in Delhi and always encourages me. It's because of him that I am aware of many technicalities of film making.” She also adds,” My dream is to visit Antarctica one day and I would like to direct a film with the penguins. And also make my father more proud. My father is my inspiration.”
