Balaji has finally answered the prayers of his devotees across Pakistan and the Middle East. Pakistani fans, that have developed a liking for the K- soaps across their border, can now boast of one of their own. ARY Digital introduced for first time ever for viewers in Pakistan and the Middle East, a mega soap titled Khwaish, produced by Balaji Telefilms Limited. Khwaish is the tale of a young girl named Afreen who belongs to a middle class family. Being the eldest daughter in the family, all responsibilities fall on her shoulders when her elder brother settles separately and her father is forced to retire. However, Afreen braves these new challenges in her life but not without worrying about her own future. During these times she meets Kabir the flamboyant owner of Khan Industries. The two develop a unique connection whereby Afreen ends up saving the moments for Kabir at various points. Khwaish has been shot and produced entirely in the in the UAE. It comprises of a cross border mix of renowned stars and newcomers Priya Ashok Bathija as Afreen and Syed Yasir Shah (a new talent cast from Pakistan) as Azaan. From the Indian shores, Anju Mahendru, Indraneel Bhattacharya, Sumeet Sachdav, lend their talents in vital roles supported by actors Mohammad Behzaad Khan, Ekta Sharma, Aradhana Uppal, Avinash Vijaykumar Sachdev, Zarin Roshan and Anwar Khan. "We are proud to have furthered our growth into the international markets outside of India, said Mr. R Karthik, CEO, Balaji Telefilms Ltd., "This show gives us an opportunity to create a production that is closer to home for audiences in the Middle East and Pakistan, something they can feel a part of." An equally ecstatic Yasar Khan, VP - ARY, said that, "We are proud to introduce this international project specially made from the lifestyle and customs of viewers in the Middle East and Pakistan." Going after great success of the various Balaji shows like Kyunki..., Kahaani, Kkusum..., that are aired in the neighbouring countries, Khwaish seems set to follow in these flourishing footsteps, as the tale is customized to ethnicity and traditions to suit those of viewers in Pakistan and Middle East. The show has already received a fabulous response since airing the first episode on June 25th 2007.
