Raahil Azam, who won most of his battles as the ultimate warrior in and as Hatim a few years back, is apparently left with no battle at hand. In other words, the actor doesn't any meaty roles to essay these days. However, Raahil will be making a special appearance in a special series of Star One's Ssshhhh Phir Koi Hai - Aryaamann, comprising of four different tales.
Speaking on his character Raahil says, "I'll be playing the character of Aryaamann, who is a professional ghost buster. He deals with these entities day in and out. His mission is to cast away all kind of negative powers in the world."
The first story of the series called Saaya will be aired this Friday. It revolves around Sanjana (Pariva), who gets married to a pipal tree so as to get rid of her manglik dosha. However, her cousins Ashwin (Himanshu Malhotra) and Ragini (Pooja Pihal) aren't too keen on her performing the ritual. While Sanjana takes her pheras, a yaksha (a male nature spirit) is perched on the tree who gets totally mesmerized by the flawless beauty of Sanjana. He takes the pheras along with her and thereby possesses Sanjana. Assuming him as her husband, the yaksha haunts anyone close to his so-called wife and even kills her fiance Arvind (Ajay Choudhary). Understably, our ghost buster uses all his tricks to free Sanjana from the possessive spirit. So, watch this week's episode.
Talking about Rahil, though he's played versatile roles in shows like Betiyaan Aapni Ya…and Yeh Meri Life Hai, the actor is better known among the masses as the ulimtate warrior of Hatim. Now that he'll play another rescue act in Ssshhhh.., we asked him whether he's comfortable with the tag of a super hero; to which he replied, "I don't mind this tag. Kam se kam mardo walo kaam to kar raha hoon (Altleast I'm playing a true macho role)." The actor also feels that he's the one to bring the concept of superhero back on TV.
While he's always been a hit with the kids, Raahil drew praises from one and all for his portrayal of the character 'Vedant' in Betiyaan….. "I really enjoyed my character Vedant. For a change I was offered a different role and the best apart about it was that I got to do it as I wanted to. There never was any pressure on me to perform. This serial revolved mainly around the female characters but I was the lone man who received acclamation," claims Azam.
Unlike most TV actors, who speak in superlatives about their Bollywood aspirations, Raahil is pretty candid when he says that he wouldn't get a film as hardly anyone in that industry knows him. However, given an opportunity he would love to grab it.
In spite of being a part of Tellywood for almost a decade, the actor feels he's never got his due; not economically but in terms of good, character oriented roles. As Hatim, Raahil has always come to the rescue of the needy. Now, that our superhero needs help, are producers willing to bail him?
