Republican Party of India plan to carry forward their agitation against Bigg Boss all the way to Lonavala. News has it that they will agitate outside the Bigg Boss house in Lonavala on Friday. Tomorrow is the day of eviction and as always it attracts attention with the presence of the media in large numbers. Fearing that things could go out of hand, the channel has decided to cancel the press meet.
Confirming the news, RPI District president (Pune) Suryakant Waghmare says, “Yes, we’ll be holding a peaceful protest outside the Bigg Boss house. After the protest in Mumbai, we’d held discussions with the channel where it was decided that the protest will stop if they issued a public apology to our president. However, despite agreeing to this they haven’t issued any apology.”
Officials from Colors refused to comment on this matter.
RPI activists had recently vandalised the Colors office in Mumbai in protest of their party president Ramdas Athawale being snubbed for Bigg Boss 2. Athawale had earlier claimed that he was offered the show but neither the channel nor the production house reverted to him. Athawale accused the channel of snubbing him because he is a Dalit (Scheduled caste).
