MUMBAI: While a lot of new presentations are launching, there are quite some going off-air.
Among the few is TV show Ranju Ki Betiyaan, which hit the tube in February this year, is all set to wrap up in the first week of December. The daily soap features Reena Kapoor, Deepshikha Nagpal, Ayub Khan and Karan Khandewal among others.
When contacted, Deepshikha said that she hasn’t heard of any such development.
She told us, “This is news to me. Rumours of our show going off air keep circulating every now and then. In fact, six months ago, we had heard that it would end soon, which obviously didn’t happen. An ongoing show has to make way for a new one and it’s natural for the cast of the old show to worry. However, at this point, we have not been intimated about Ranju Ki Betiyaan (RKB) wrapping up. We are shooting continously and the ongoing track is being liked by people. I am enjoying every moment on the set. Ek saal hone aaya hai toh aisi rumours aati rehti hain. It is quite shocking if it is true. I hope that the show doesn’t end anytime soon and pray that it’s just a rumour.”
She added, “ Kabhi na kabhi toh show band hona hi hai, so actors are always prepared for it. But no matter when it ends, it is always disheartening. Everyone associated with a project works hard on making it a successful entity. So, it’s never a good feeling. The unit of RKB has become like a family. I have literally forgotten Deepshikha Nagpal ever since I started playing Lalita Mishra. Having said that, every show has to end someday.”
