MUMBAI: Indian professional wrestler and MMA fighter, actor, motivational speaker, and health expert Sangram Singh walked for designer Anjali Phougat at the LA Fashion Week. He applauded her for her dedication and hard work and said that the whole experience was quite rewarding.
“Being a part of LA Fashion Week was an incredible experience. It’s an iconic platform that so many designers, models, and fashion enthusiasts aspire to participate in, so to be part of that energy felt surreal. It was an opportunity to showcase talent on a global stage, and the exposure to such a diverse and creative environment was inspiring,” he said.
“Additionally, I had the pleasure of meeting and working with Anjali for the very first time. Collaborating with her was truly rewarding; she has so much potential and a unique vision for the industry. This experience is just the beginning for her, and I believe she has the dedication and passion to reach extraordinary new heights in the fashion world,” he added.
Talking about her designs, he said that though he had the opportunity to participate in various shows across India, Anjali’s designs truly stand out in their uniqueness and authenticity. “Each piece she creates seems to carry a story, blending traditional elements with a modern touch, which is rare and refreshing. Anjali and I initially discussed our collaboration over the phone, and it was evident even then that she had a clear vision for this project. When I finally saw the outfit she designed for me, I was genuinely thrilled,” he said.
“I wore a beautifully crafted traditional Indian ensemble, complete with jutis as footwear (designed by Steve Madden), and the entire look was not only visually striking but also incredibly comfortable. Her designs have this perfect balance of elegance and ease, making them a joy to wear on the runway. This collaboration exceeded all my expectations, and I look forward to working with her again in the future,” he added.
Asked if he has a pre- and post-show ritual, Sangram said, “Whether I’m preparing for an MMA fight, walking the ramp, or filming for a show, I have a ritual that keeps me grounded and focused. Before anything, I always take a moment to connect with God. I say a silent prayer, seeking guidance and strength, trusting that wherever he leads me is where I’m meant to be and that I’ll find the inner resilience to perform at my best. This moment of prayer brings a sense of calm and purpose, allowing me to step into any situation with confidence and a positive mindset.”
“After the show or event, I like to take a moment to reflect, express my gratitude, and evaluate how I can keep improving. Keeping a positive outlook before and after each performance is essential for me, and I find that this approach brings the best results in everything I do,” he added. Anjali Phougat surely has got an admirer in Sangram who appreciated his experience with her professionally!
