People are well aware of Lord Ram returning from exile which is why  Diwali is celebrated. As a child, we all have heard about this story. What are your thoughts on this?

Diwali is celebrated to commemorate the return of Shri Ram to Ayodhya. After defeating Ravan, he returned to Ayodhya with Sita ji, and the entire city rejoiced. Diwali is a festival of prosperity, happiness, and positivity. As children, we were always excited about Diwali. Though we didn't fully understand its significance, we had been hearing stories from the Ramayana since we were young. We listened to these stories with innocence, but as we grew older, we came to appreciate the deeper meaning of Diwali. I believe Diwali is a festival that not only brings celebration and worship but also instills hope. On Diwali, we remember and honor Shri Ram, and it reminds us that no matter how much darkness or difficulty we face in life, light will surely come. Diwali symbolizes that light, bringing a reminder of hope for everyone seeking brightness in their lives.

Were you nervous as several actors have already portrayed Lord Ram on-screen?

I wasn’t definitely nervous as I wondered if the audience would accept me as Lord Ram. At first, I was anxious, but as I deepened my understanding, my confidence grew, and I believe that connected with the audience. I’m incredibly grateful for their love and acceptance; it means so much to me.

How did you prepare yourself for this role?

In terms of preparation, Lord Ram is such a revered figure, and every Indian feels a connection with him. We’ve all heard, seen, and read the Ramayan since childhood. We know its story, but it was essential for me to truly understand Lord Ram on a deeper level, as I would be portraying him. To do so, I read books that delve into Lord Ram’s inner journey—how he saw the world, his thought process, and his philosophies. One book that greatly helped me is Ram Rajya, written by Ashutosh Rana, a respected actor. Reading this book gave me insights into Lord Ram’s inner world, his thoughts, and perspectives.

The show also has many other actors like Sanjay Reu, Basant Bhat, Nikitin Dheer, Nirbhay Wadhwa, Aarav Chowdhary, Shilpa Saklani and many more.

Stay tuned to TellyChakkar for all the latest updates.
