Shakuntalam Telefilms’ much-awaited series with a difference ‘Rakshak’ for Life OK which dealt with an ‘aam-aadmi’punishing evil-minded people and brutally killing them has seen a delay for quite some time now. The show was to launch in January 2013, but was caught in a legal tussle owing to its dark concept.
But it’s good news for people who want to see something different on television.
The maker and channel have now sorted all legal issues. And as per sources, Rakshak will be on air from the last week of September 2013.
As planned earlier, Rakshak will be aired as a mini-series of 8 episodes and will be a weekly show. And if all goes well and the concept gets the audience hooked, the maker plan to get back with a Season 2.
Rakshak will see talented actor Rajesh Shringarpure in the central role of an ‘aam-aadmi’ who takes it upon himself to bring justice by eliminating evil people.
When contacted, Producer Shyamashis Bhattacharya could not be reached.
Rajesh Shringarpure exclaimed, “This is news to me that Rakshak will soon be on air. I am happy and glad, and hope and pray that this news is true. We had worked immensely on this show. And as an actor I was disappointed when the promos had hit the tubes earlier and then taken off. While people were congratulating me for my work, the promo was pulled off and the show got delayed. Though we were not informed anything in detail, I believe the concept of a layman taking law in his hands was a matter of debate. As we are seeing, the crime rate in the country is increasing and the channel and maker were weary of the concept affecting the common man. They waited for the right time to get the show on air.”
As per our sources, Rakshak will be on air from 28 September 2013.
Rakshak will see Rajesh Shringarpure, Purva Parag, Karam Rajpal in lead roles.
We wish the entire team of Rakshak a great start!!!
