MUMBAI: The television show Jamai No. 1 is gearing up for one of its most anticipated moments – a grand wedding sequence that promises to be packed with drama, emotions, and breathtaking visuals. Actress Shruti Gholap, who plays the role of Sumati in the show, opened up about the challenges and excitement of filming this sequence.
Talking about the on-screen wedding preparations, Shruti said, “The on-screen wedding prep has been amazing! The production team has left no stone unturned in ensuring that everything looks grand and authentic. From the lavish sets to the detailed rituals, every element has been meticulously planned. It feels like we’re part of a real wedding, and it’s been a wonderful experience to shoot these sequences.”
When asked if the audience can expect drama in the sequence, Shruti assured fans that it would be an emotional rollercoaster. “Absolutely! The audience can expect drama at every turn. This wedding isn’t just about celebrations – there are multiple layers of emotions, conflicts, and surprises woven into the narrative. With Neel’s family reacting one way and the Chotwanis responding differently, the drama will keep viewers on the edge of their seats,” she teased.
Shruti also highlighted how the grandeur and vibrancy of wedding sequences make them special for the cast and crew. “The grandeur, the vibrant colors, the intricate decorations – it all creates an atmosphere that feels larger than life. As actors, we get to perform in an environment that is so visually stunning, and for the crew, it’s an incredible creative challenge to bring it all together. It’s a unique and memorable experience for everyone involved,” she shared.
Elaborating on the challenges of filming, Shruti revealed that the coordination required for such sequences was no small feat. “The most challenging part was the sheer coordination required. With so many characters involved and multiple subplots unfolding simultaneously, it was crucial to ensure that everything flowed seamlessly. Additionally, capturing the emotional highs and lows of the wedding while maintaining the energy and excitement of the celebration was quite demanding. But thanks to the teamwork and planning, we pulled it off beautifully,” she said.
Of course, weddings on screen aren’t complete without stunning costumes and beautiful sets, something that Shruti believes enhances her performance. “When you’re dressed in a stunning lehenga or sherwani and surrounded by such beautiful decor, it instantly elevates your mood and performance. It immerses you in the story and makes it easier to bring out the emotions required for the scene,” she added.
As for the audience’s reaction, Shruti is confident the wedding will leave a lasting impact. “I’m expecting the audience to be thoroughly entertained and emotionally invested. This sequence has everything – from heartfelt moments to unexpected twists and vibrant celebrations. I think fans will love the way this wedding plays out and will be talking about it long after it airs. It’s a treat for the viewers, and I’m excited to see their reactions,” she concluded.
