Actress Shweta Mahadik who was last seen wooing Siddharth Shukla as the sexy Rasika in Colors’ Balika Vadhu is very much satisfied with her ‘unglamorous’ avatar in the recently released Marathi movie Lokmanya: Ek Yug Purush in which she essayed the role of Satyabhama Tilak, the lawfully wedded wife of Lokmanya Tilak.
Says Shweta, “It was a fabulous experience working for the movie, as the role was a predominant one and the cast and crew were amazing. Satyabhama’s character in the movie is very vital as she managed her home as a strong woman all the while when her husband was away. Satyabhama died when Lokmanya was away, leading a life in jail. Moreover, working with actor Subodh Bhave was a great experience.”
Shweta is all the more happy with this big screen outing of hers, as this happens to be her maiden movie. “It is always nice to get an exposure on the big screen, that too when you are looking at film offers. Though the role was very off-beat and historical, I am glad that I pulled it off well. Many who saw the movie could not believe what they saw, as they have never seen me in such a role. The icing on the cake has been the good response that I have got for the role.”
On her future plans, the actress states, “Well, any challenging character in a Marathi or Hindi movie is welcome.”
So what about her stint on television? “Television will always be on the top of the list. I am on the lookout for interesting roles in TV too.”
Shweta has also been part of Meri Bhabhi on Star Plus.
Shweta, we wish you luck for your upcoming ventures!!
