Veteran TV actor Sumeet Raghavan (made his debut as child artist) is very excited that his popular SAB TV show Sajan Re Jhoot Mat Bolo is has returned with a new title Golmaal Hai Bhai Sab Golmaal Hai and a new story line on SAB.
“I wish the producers (Vipul D Shah and Sanjiv Sharma) and the cast (Swapnil Joshi, Mughda Chapekar and Tiku Talsania) and the channel all the very best. Hope it rocks as the original in its two-year long season didm” said Sumeet.
He continued, “They wanted me to continue as the lead, but I turned it down. I have had my fill of comedy shows (Sajan Re Shubh Mangal Saavdhan, Hudd Kar Di, Ghar Ki Baat Hai etc). Now I wish to try out something different. Currently, I am busy with my latest Marathi play Lekure Udand Jhali. Stage is an altogether different experience. Getting the live response of the audience instantly, keeps you on a new high.”
Ask him about The Late Night Show on Colors and he said, “We were given the slot only for 24 episodes.” He did not want to comment on whether it worked or not due to its adult content, “Please ask producer Abhigyan Jha about the same. Though I am continuing to host the web version, Jai Hind TV,” he added.
Looking ahead, Sumeet prefers reality shows. After displaying his singing skills in Zee Marathi’s Sa Re Ga Ma Pa and Star Ya Rockstar, he would love to take part in a dance reality show as well. Even an adventure show might suffice his wants, but he does not want to be part of something like a Bigg Boss.
Reminiscing about Sajan Re, Sumeet stated, “The show rocked in its first avatar for it had a perfect combination of talent (Tikku ji, Apara Mehta et al) along with fresh faces. It was quite a challenge for the Optimystix Entertainment writing team to keep on crafting stories on a daily basis on a single thread: of a lie that my character had said that he does not have a family.”
