MUMBAI: Pooja Gor, Arhaan Behll-starrer "Mann Ki Awaaz Pratigya" was a landmark show, which ended in 2012, and while the audience eagerly awaited for the second season, the cast and crew too anticipated it to be back soon. But better late than never, as the show is coming back with season two that will go air from March 15 onwards on Star Bharat from Monday to Friday at 8:30 p.m. The show is being produced under Rajan Shahi's banner Director's Kut Productions with Pearl Grey as the showrunner, writer, and creative producer.
While the first season revolved around Pratigya and her fight against the injustice by her in-laws, the Thakur family, the second season is about her battle between her duty and responsibility as a public prosecutor and her emotions as a mother. Though she has managed to change her family, she now faces the fear of her husband and father-in-law going back to the old ways to save her son Garv. What will Pratigya do now?
Happy about the second season, Pooja shared that she feels blessed to be a part of it and added, "When you think about Pratigya the first thing that comes to mind is the show which was so iconic, and real that it could become a cult show. People could connect with it easily. I am so happy and excited as it's coming back with a bang after 9 years."
Arhaan, who essays her husband Krishna, revealed that he was subconsciously anticipating the comeback, and added, "The story is profound and powerful and we can't wait to bring it out. The entire team is working hard and I hope the viewers get what they have been waiting for."
Rajan, who has given landmark shows like "Sapna Babul Ka... Bidaai", "Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai", and "Anupamaa", is looking forward to the launch on March 15. He further said, "The show not only has an amazing cast from the previous season, but also a very talented new ensemble. It is a new texture of the social thriller, I am extremely happy to have collaborated with Pearl Grey."
"We have always been proud of the characters we have presented in DKP. So this will be another strong addition to our kitty and all of us are looking forward to Pratigya 2," he added.
Talking about the show, Pearl revealed that the second season was supposed to happen right after the first one and the reruns during the lockdown made them come back with a season 2. "We’ve worked to portray things differently while keeping alive the essence of the show. Since the first season was super successful, we’re hoping that viewers will accept and appreciate Pratigya Season 2 also," she added.
