The day Sharad didn’t let me go home

A page from the personal diary of Keerti Kelkar This is one of the most beautiful days of my life and something which I can never forget till I die. This is was the biggest day of my life as something beautiful and unexpected happened to me. This was way back in 2005 when Sharad and I both used to shoot for Aakrosh (DD1). We were just co-actors and hardly exchanged any pleasantries. Slowly we became friends but we were not the best of friends. I was there in the show for just nine episodes and soon my role got over. After I left the show, Sharad gave me a call one day. I never expected him to call me, but after he called me even I started calling him and we became best friends in just a few days. Soon Sharad asked me out for a date, but I only agreed after a month to go out with him. We then started visiting each other’s homes and soon Sharad bought his own flat. One day while I was shooting for a show, Sharad happened to drop in on the sets. It was late in the night and I was so tired that I did not want to go home. Sharad asked me to stay back at his home and I agreed immediately. When I reached his house, I found it so beautiful that I didn’t want to leave it. It was like a live-in experience for me as I daily completed my late night shoots and used to go to his home. This had become my everyday routine and I didn’t go home for about six days. My brother came to know that I was staying at Sharad’s place and he came to pick me up. He asked me to come home, but Sharad refused saying he would not let me go. My brother was surprised and so was I because I never thought Sharad would say such a thing. Sharad was smiling and added, “I will not let her go and you will have to leave your sister at my place forever”. Sharad later added that he wanted to marry me and hence I would have to stay with him for the rest of my life. I was on top of the world after hearing that because I was waiting for him to say that. I loved him a lot and I wanted him to propose marriage. After that we both got married immediately and now I feel that I am falling in love more and more with Sharad with each passing day. I just can’t think about anything else other than Sharad now because I love him a lot. I am so lucky to have Sharad as my life partner.
