Mumbai marathon has always been a star-studded affair and over the years, it has become a major talking point. Furthermore, it can be said to be synonymous with the spirit of this maximum city which thrives on the word ‘hope’. Apart from many A-listers from Bollywood, various TV stars also put on their running shoes and run in order to support some cause or just to feel the pulse of the event. Now, the Mumbai marathon is back and Tellychakkar.com talked to few television actors who will be running this Sunday (15 January 2012)
Big daddy of television, Ronit Roy aka KD from Sony Entertainment’s Adaalat, has always been supporting the event. “Mumbai marathon has always been special and it binds the entire city together. This year I will run on behalf of Shabana Azmi’s Mijwan foundation. I am looking forward to it,” says the actor with smile.
Ronit’s younger brother Rohit Roy is also running for the same organization. “I think it is a wonderful initiative. I have participated twice before and I am super excited about this year. This marathon brings people together and makes us feel one,” shares Rohit.
Furthermore, Yashashree Masurkar is sulking that she got late to register for the race. But she will be up in the morning, get her camera and gear up to capture the moments that will exude integrity and fellow-feeling. “I am feeling bad that I could not register, but I will go to the venue to click some cool photos,” she shares.
Abhinav Shukla, who is currently part of Survivor India, will run to promote his show and also to feel the spirit of the event. “This will be my first time. I am an athlete and a sprinter. I can easily run 200 to 400 meters but this is a marathon. Till date, I have run maximum till eight kilometers, but this time I plan to achieve more than that,” says he.
Great, it seems that this year’s marathon will be a great success. Way to go, Mumbai. Run for humanity and the spirit of the city!!!
