The long wait for the 2012 Olympics in London will finally be over with the opening ceremony of the event set to begin in few hours from now after which the world's greatest international competition will commence.
The live telecast of the ceremony will provide an opportunity for the world to watch Indian music maestro A R Rahman with his Slumdog Millionaire director Danny Boyle inaugurate the event. This time from India there will be as many as 83 sports persons participating in different events. All around expectations are high and we hope they make the country proud by bringing in maximum medals.
Tellychakkar.com got in touch with some of your favourite TV stars and asked them as to how excited they are to watch the opening ceremony.
Superstar RK of Madhubala...Ek Ishq aur Ek Junoon Vivian Dsena shared, “I don’t know if I can watch the opening ceremony because I will be shooting then. But, all said and done, the opening and closing ceremonies are always grand with kickass sound and sizzling performances by famous artistes. You feel proud to cheer up for your country and it’s a pleasure and fun to watch all the sportsmen and women doing their best on the field. I hope India will win 6 to 7 medals and shine this year.”
Handsome hunk Neil Bhatt shared, “Yes, I am going to watch the opening ceremony. It’s always great to watch international events. Yesterday it was a ‘proud moment’ for me when I saw Mr Bachchan carrying the Olympic flame. I am not following or cheering up any particular player but I am supporting India. In 2008, India won 3 medals in all and this time, I am hoping that they would win double of what they bagged four years ago.”
Averred Gaurav Chopraa, “Yes, definitely I am going to watch the opening ceremony. In fact, I was supposed to go to London and watch the event live but due to some work, I postponed my trip. I am looking forward to watch Indian music maestro A R Rahman and Danny Boyle inaugurate the event. Olympics game has always been close to me.”
Gaurav continued, “When I was a child, I used to draw five circles of the Olympics logo and be happy. But now with the change in time, especially in India, people have become more cricket-centric. People don’t follow any other games than cricket. But during the Olympics tournament, people get into that magical zone and it’s a great sight to watch several players representing their countries. I was swollen with pride when I saw Mr Bachchan light up the Olympic torch.”
Observed lady with beauty and brains Manasi Parekh, “I am very excited to watch the opening ceremony; in fact, I am writing a blog on the same. I was blown by the arrangement and security by the Olympics authority. Everything is so planned. It’s just spectacular. Stadium looks immensely huge and magnificent. I am looking forward to watch our music legend A R Rahman. Olympics unite nations. It’s great to see people cheering up for their country. This time we have 83 members participating in different sports. All are good sportsmen and I hope India will shine in the Olympics this year.”
Let’s cheer for India at the Olympics!!!
