Veteran actress Ashalata Wabgaokar passes away because of Coronavirus

Ashalata Wabgaokar, who had played many key roles in Marathi, Hindi films and on TV, passed away on 22 September.

MUMBAI: Ashalata Wabgaokar, who had played many key roles in Marathi, Hindi films and on TV, is no more! The veteran Marathi actress, who had tested positive for Coronavirus a few days ago while working on the set of Aai Mazi Kalubai, passed away on 22 September.

Earlier reports stated that the 79-year-old veteran actress had been admitted to hospital and was recovering from it. But her condition deteriorated today and she breathed her last in the morning.

Report has it that a majority of the show's crew members had tested COVID-2019 positive recently. The crew is now under home quarantined. However, Aashalata Wabgaokar was the only one who was critical. A source from the sets of the show confirmed the news with ETimes TV and said, "We are sad to inform you that our dear Aashalata tai is not with us anymore. She was recovering from COVID-19 but unfortunately passed away today. It's really unfortunate incident that on the set of Aai Mazi Kalubai, she tested positive. The entire team of Kalubai is in so pain now."
