Why I got married four times…

A page from the personal diary of Shweta Keswani I am perhaps one of the few, or perhaps the only human being, in the world to get married to the same husband four times! Believe it or not, it is true and was one of my best experiences. Let me tell you how. Alex and I have been seeing each other for more than four years now. We come from completely different backgrounds and cultures, but thankfully have a lot in common. After putting in a lot of thought and more than four years of courtship, we decided to get married and finally tied the knot on October 21. It was a fairytale experience, with visitors from all over the world and different cultures coming to celebrate our marriage. Since ours was a cross cultural marriage, I wanted to seek blessings of different faiths and thus got married in four different ways. First we had a court marriage and then a Hindu marriage. Before you think that was enough, let me tell you that we had a Christian and Buddhist marriage as well! I follow Hinduism and Buddhism and thus was keen on these styles of marriage, while Alex being a Christian preferred his style. And as with everyone else, a court marriage was required for legal documentation. So that is the story behind my four marriages! It's been a dream run for me ever since I got married. I took an extended marriage leave of a few months and played the typical Indian housewife and have managed to set up my new house. Now thankfully that is done, and I am back at work with Aare Deewano Mujhe Pehchaano.
