MUMBAI: In commemoration of one of the most potent and timeless forms of communication, the world unites annually on February 13th to celebrate World Radio Day. Radio's distinctive fusion of music, news, narrative, and cross-cultural interaction continues to enthral listeners even in the face of the growth of digital channels. It is still a timeless friend that strengthens bonds between people of all ages and places. Hemangi Kavi from Kaise Mujhe Tum Mil Gaye reflects on her best radio recollections and how radio influenced her life on this momentous occasion.

"Radio has a nostalgic quality that transports me back to my early years," said Hemangi Kavi, who plays Bhavani. It was more than simply a gadget in our house; it was a daily routine. Every morning, as we were eating breakfast, my grandfather's little transistor would play the news and then old, beloved tunes. I first learnt about other countries, customs, and motivational tales via the radio. Even now, I occasionally turn on the radio while driving or cooking because it allows me to feel more connected to my heritage and provides a brief reprieve in a world that moves quickly. The allure of radio is that it allows each listener to have a unique experience using only their imagination and no pictures.
