MUMBAI: Gujarat Titans skipper Shubman Gill expressed his delight after his team’s convincing 58-run win over Rajasthan Royals in their IPL 2025 clash on Wednesday. With four wins in five matches, Gill credited the team’s success to a collective effort, where multiple players have consistently stepped up.

Batting first, GT posted an imposing total of 217/6, thanks to a stylish half-century from Sai Sudharsan and solid contributions from the top order. Their bowlers followed up with a clinical performance, dismissing Rajasthan for 159 in 19.2 overs. “The pitch offered movement early, but Sai and Jos batted brilliantly. We'd take 220 any day,” said Gill at the post-match presentation.
Gill highlighted the team’s balance and depth, stating, “When you can’t pick a clear Player of the Match because everyone’s chipped in, that’s a great problem to have. That’s what makes us a strong unit.” He also praised the bowling attack, noting that their current form makes captaincy a lot easier.
When asked about his role as a young captain among experienced players, Gill said, “Everyone’s been supportive—especially Ishi bhai (Ishant Sharma).”
Rajasthan Royals captain Sanju Samson admitted his side faltered tactically, conceding extra runs and losing wickets at crucial stages. “We strayed from our bowling plans, and losing wickets in key moments cost us the game,” he reflected.
