MUMBAI: Rajasthan Royals (RR) have come under scrutiny after their narrow loss to Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in a recent match of IPL 2025, prompting allegations of match-fixing. Jaideep Bihani, convener of the ad hoc committee of the Rajasthan Cricket Association (RCA), raised serious concerns over the team's defeat. RR, needing just nine runs in the final over with six wickets in hand, surprisingly lost by two runs, sparking controversy.

In a conversation with News18 Rajasthan, Bihani referenced RR’s tainted history, including the 2013 spot-fixing scandal and team owner Raj Kundra’s involvement in betting, which led to the team’s suspension in 2016 and 2017. He urged the BCCI to investigate the recent outcome thoroughly.

“The ad hoc committee has been appointed by the state government in Rajasthan. After analysing our work, we were given an extension for the fifth time. During our tenure, we’ve conducted all competitions successfully right from the district level to the national level. However, as soon as the time for hosting IPL came, the Sports Council took control of it. For IPL, the BCCI had first sent a letter to RCA only. The excuse given by the Sports Council and RR was that we don’t have an MOU from Sawai Mansingh Stadium. If MOU is not there, so what? Aren’t you paying Sports Council for every match?,” Jaideep Bihani said in the interview.

Additionally, Bihani expressed dissatisfaction with RCA being excluded from hosting IPL matches, questioning the justification given by the Sports Council regarding the absence of an MOU for Sawai Mansingh Stadium. RR currently sit eighth on the table with just two wins and are set to face RCB next.
