MUMBAI: Bollywood personalities Akshay Kumar and Karan Johar have turned saviour for an injured stuntman.
Akshay has always made efforts to recognise the real heroes, stuntmen, who are behind the scenes. In a recent incident, Akshay and Good Newwz producer Karan Johar proved to be saviours for an injured stuntman in Chandigarh.
According to a report in Mid-Day, two stuntmen, Bittoo and Hari Singh from action director Sham Kaushal’s team were working for Chandigarh Mein song launch. The stuntmen were checking on wiring work while they were attached to the winch machine. However, during the second run-through, the machine broke and they fell 10-12 feet which injured Bittoo’s spine seriously. Though Akshay and Karan were not present at the scene, when they heard about Bittoo’s injury, they arranged for an air ambulance for the stuntman and flew him to Mumbai to give him the best of care.
The action director Sham Kaushal told the daily, “Akshay paaji was at a shoot in Hyderabad, but was keeping a constant check on the boys. On Friday, he and Karan's team arranged for an air ambulance so that Bittoo could be flown down to Mumbai. Now, he has been advised two months of bed rest.” The second stuntman, Hari Singh was discharged the next day after the incident. Well, this is surely not a first for the Khiladi Kumar and the producer who helped the stuntman in the hour of need.
