MUMBAI: Indian Cinema once again took the spotlight as ZEE returns with 23rd Zee Cine Awards 2025, a grand tribute to the stories, stars, and spirit that defined the past year. This year, the stage isn’t reserved just for the stars; it belongs equally to the fans. In the biggest FANtertainment night of the year, the evening became a thrilling confluence of stardom and fandom, where those who create cinema and those who cherish it came together under one roof to revel in its magic.
Among the standout acts of the evening was a deeply personal and joyous performance by Ananya Panday, who surprised her father, Chunky Panday, with a tribute he’ll never forget. Secretly planned alongside her mother, Bhavana Pandey, Ananya lit up the stage with a performance filled with nostalgia and heart. The highlight? Chunky himself joining Ananya for a playful, high-energy rendition of Main Tera Tota, turning the moment into a heartwarming family celebration that left the audience cheering and Bhavana teary-eyed.
Ananya said, “I’ve grown up watching my dad light up people’s lives with his work, and this performance was my way of saying thank you — not just to him as an artist, but as the incredible father who’s always been my biggest supporter. Mom and I had been planning this surprise for so long and keeping it, a secret wasn’t easy! Every time I rehearsed at home, he’d walk by looking confused, wondering what I was up to. Seeing his reaction tonight made it all worth it. I’m just so grateful I could pull it off, and sharing the stage with him will always be one of the most special moments of my life. I want to thank Zee Cine Awards for giving me the chance to honour my dad in this way.”
