MUMBAI: Anushka Sharma remained silent about her romance with cricketer Virat Kohli till they were married in 2017. Social media influencer Freddy Birdy, who recounted the day he interviewed the actress in the early stages of her relationship with Virat, backed up this.

On Monday, Freddy uploaded a carousel post on Instagram that told the story of his magazine interview with Anushka from years ago. He remembered visiting Anushka at her then-penthouse after taking a flight from Delhi to Mumbai. He described her as "talkative in the nicest way," "funny, normal, and utterly relaxed," "utterly gorgeous," and "completely unpretentious."
He went on to say that his driver had asked him to find out if Anushka and Virat are dating. Deep into the talk, Freddy claimed that his "Barkha Dutt instincts" took over and he made the inquiry. "She naturally displayed her best acting qualities and pretended to be ignorant of the question posed."
However, he discovered the truth when he overheard Virat teasing her and scheduling supper while she was on the phone. But he chose to keep her a secret, and he declined when his driver questioned him about whether or not she was really seeing Virat.
Anushka commented on the post writing, “Freddy” with a heart Emoji.

Before Anushka and Virat got married in a surprise ceremony in Italy the following year, they started dating in 2016. Son Akaay and daughter Vamika are their two children. After the Indian team's historic victory in the ICC T20 World Cup on Saturday, Virat announced his retirement from T20 cricket last week and wrote Anushka a note of thanks.
