Big-scale preparations for shoot of Mehrunnisa in Lucknow

A lavish stage is being set up in the Chowk area of Lucknow where Amitabh Bachchan would be shooting for Sudhir Mishra's next film Mehrunnisa along with Rishi Kapoor and Chitrangada Singh sometime after Eid. The tale of the film that begins in 1945 spans over four decades. It is a tale of two friends who meet again after a span of 40 years. The script, written in 1996 by Mishra, revolves around the friends who fall in love with the same woman and get separated. The woman they both seek is being played by Chitrangada who re-enters their lives when they are in their 60s. Earlier, permission for shooting had been sought for places like the Chowk, Bada Imambada, La Martinere Boys' College and Colvin Taluqdar's College. Mehrunnisa is being produced by Nikhil Advani.
