Deepika and Ranveer exchange rings after a traditional Konkani engagement ceremony

MUMBAI: Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh’s wedding festivities began yesterday after all the invited guests reached the Villa Del Balbianello. The ceremony that took place yesterday was the traditional Konkani Phool Muddi ceremony, where the bride’s father welcomes the groom’s parents. Deepika Padukone’s father Prakash Padukone gave Ranveer Singh a coconut and formally welcomed him to the family.

The couple exchanged rings and it was an emotional moment for everyone. Deepika Padukone will be wearing a white and gold saree for the Konkani wedding. The couple will be wearing color-coordinated outfits for their wedding functions. For the Anand Karaj, Deepika Padukone will be wearing a lehenga, and Ranveer Singh will don a Kanjeevaram sherwani by Sabyasachi.
