MUMBAI: After a nine-year hiatus, Imran Khan is getting ready to return to Bollywood, which will be a major turning point in his career. It has been revealed via a popular news portal article that Imran is starting a new chapter in his career with his mentor and maternal uncle, Aamir Khan.
Imran's early career was greatly influenced by Aamir, who first presented him to the public in the 1988 film 'Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak' as a child actor and again in 2008 with the film 'Jaane Tu... Ya Jaane Na' is a leading man.

Following over eight months of speculation on his comeback to the big screen, Imran officially announced his comeback endeavor. He will play Happy Patel in a fun comedy that is being produced by Aamir Khan Productions.
The movie has been called a 'laugh-filled riot,' and combines well-known components with a novel, energizing setting that pays homage to Imran's earlier films. Filming for this much-awaited film has reportedly already started in Goa, according to an industry insider.
The source revealed, “Imran has finally locked in his comeback project, nearly eight months after he hinted at the possibility of returning to movies last year. He will star in and as Happy Patel in a quirky comedy produced by Aamir Khan Productions. The film is a laugh-riot and is set in a familiar yet uniquely fresh world, reminiscent of Imran’s previous works. Shooting has already commenced in Goa.”
Vir Das, known for his role in the successful 2011 black comedy ‘Delhi Belly’, is stepping into the director’s chair for the first time with this film, signaling a new chapter in his career after 17 years in acting. While he has previously worked on an unreleased web series as a director and showrunner, this upcoming movie will be his debut in directing a feature film.
Mona Singh, recognized for her performances in popular films like ‘3 Idiots’ and ‘Laal Singh Chaddha’, has a significant role in the movie. The casting for the female lead character is still a mystery, while there are rumors of Aamir Khan making a cameo appearance, although official confirmation is pending.
Happy Patel has become Imran’s chosen comeback endeavor following the shelving of his initially planned web series with Abbas Tyrewala. The web series was supposed to feature Imran in the role of an intelligence officer in a Disney+ Hotstar espionage thriller centered on the South Asian counter-intelligence world.
However, much to Imran's relief, the project was postponed because of the merger with Reliance Industries and The Walt Disney Company. He conveyed his satisfaction with the cancellation, saying he would rather not play characters who rely on guns to solve problems. Happy Patel appears to be the ideal project for Imran's return, offering fans a fun and captivating experience worthy of the allure of his previous hits that still have an impact on viewers to this day.
The next in Aamir Khan Productions' intriguing lineup of films is the upcoming Imran Khan film. The production company has four more thrilling movies planned in response to the success of ‘Laapataa Ladies,’ which debuted on Netflix recently following a positive theatrical run.
Aamir and Genelia Deshmukh to star in RS Prasanna's 'Sitare Zameen Par,' Sunny Deol stars in Rajkumar Santoshi's 'Lahore 1947,' Sunil Pandey stars in 'Pritam Pyare,' starring Sanjay Mishra and Neeraj Sood, and Junaid Khan remakes of 'One Day' with Sai Pallavi are among them.
