MUMBAI : No one can forget Indian Television’s one of the most hilarious serials, Khichdi which starred Anang Desai, Rajeev Mehta, Supriya Pathak, Vandana Pathak, and Jamnadas Majethia. In 2010, the makers of the show came up with a film titled Khichdi – The Movie which was a successful venture and left the audiences in splits.
After 13 years, the makers gave us a Diwali dhamaka last year with Khichdi 2: Mission Paanthukistan in theatres.
Watching the movie in theatres was a fun experience for everyone and so this time, after a year, once again, the whole cast is back for a Diwali dhamaka. That’s right! The movie is all set for its world TV premiere on Zee Cinema on 3rd November.

Talking about the cast of the movie, Tellychakkar got in touch with JD Majethia, who had some very interesting answers when asked about the response for the movie and much more.
When asked about the response for his movie in theatres, the actor replied saying, “Khichdi has always got good response I would say but I will be very honest, lately there has been some mixed reactions also but we always expected this, they are bound to be there. What happens is, 2002, first Khichdi, worked very well, not the audience which watches Khichdi movies or web series, all of them are not there. They all heard and then came. Ke arey kya legendary program hai. Then some of them saw the memes. Social media made Khichdi and Sarabhai both, far bigger than what they were actually. They were very good, legendary shows! What happens is that, there’s a lot of expectations but they have only watched like 4 gags and heard Khichdi the name so that person comes to watch, thinks that it is okay, some people will say ke mazaa nahi aaya, bohot suna tha iske baare mein, but now you look at 80-90% reactions, Arey Khichdi!!! They will tell you 5 gags. So this 10-15%...because when you do sequels you also cannot please each and everyone of that era. The youth is driving the brands like Khichdi and Sarabhai, because they love comedy and they both have such characters and families, so they have always loved Khichdi, they will keep loving it because they love characters...Khichdi nobody comes for story, they come for characters.”
