MUMBAI : Former Miss World Manushi Chhillar made her acting debut with Samrat Prithviraj which starred Akshay Kumar in the titular role. The film failed to make a mark at the box office, and even received mixed response from the critics. She once again was seen with Akshay in Bade Miyan Chote Miyan which also starred Tiger Shroff and Alaya F.
When Samrat Prithviraj released, Akshay was 55 years old while Manushi was 25. Addressing this 30-year age difference, Manushi revealed, “Working with a superstar is good. You get a certain amount of visibility. If I talk about my first film, there was an age gap. They wanted to play the whole thing.”
In BMCM however, Manushi pointed out that she and Akshay had no romantic angle. She said, “In this film, there was no pairing. We did songs for marketing. There had to be a way to put two people together for the songs, but that's pretty much it, which is fine. I don't see it as something that was atrocious or something that shouldn't have been there. It wasn't like a love story anyway.”
On the work front, Manushi will next be seen with John Abraham in Tehran which is directed by Arun Gopalan. The action-thriller will be released later this year.
