MUMBAI: There is no evidence that Aryan Khan, the son of actor Shah Rukh Khan, was part of a larger drugs conspiracy or an international drugs trafficking syndicate. There were several irregularities in the raid on the yacht Cordelia, during which he was arrested, a Special Investigation Team (SIT) of the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), has found, according to people familiar with the matter who asked not to be named.
But a source close to the Narcotics Control Bureau's Mumbai team dismissed the reports saying, "We cannot say the action taken by the NCB was wrong as the matter is subjudice."
The case is being probed by Delhi NCB's SIT and NCB DDG Operations, Sanjay Singh has said that it would be wrong to say right now that no evidence has been found. Singh, who is heading Delhi NCB's SIT says that the investigation of Aryan Khan drugs case is not over. "It is too early to say that no evidence has been found against Aryan Khan. It cannot be said yet whether it is a part of a big conspiracy or an international drug smuggling syndicate. Aryan has not been given a clean chit yet," he said.
Aryan Khan was arrested on October 3, 2021, in connection with the seizure of banned drugs on board a cruise ship off the Mumbai coast. Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) busted an alleged drugs party on the Cordelia Cruise ship which was on its way to Goa at mid-sea on October 2.
He was in judicial custody and lodged at the Arthur Road prison in Mumbai. In his plea, Aryan Khan claimed that he was innocent and has not committed any crime and that he has been falsely implicated in the case.
