The mortal remains of producer Sudhakar Bokade was confined to flames here in Mumbai this afternoon.
The film producer who had given us films like Sapne Saajan Ke, Dhanwaan, Kalinga, Prahaar, Sauda, Yeh Pyaar Hi Toh Hai and Saajan expired last night at the Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital due to heart attack. He was 57 and is survived by two daughters Divya and Kiran and son Krishna.
Of the 17 films Bokade produced in his lifetime, a good number of movies were directed by his good friend Lawrence D’Souza. As a matter of fact, both Bokade and his friend-director were in plans to remake the Salman Khan-Madhuri Dixit, Sanjay Dutt-starrer Saajan.
Mourning Bokade’s death, D’Souza, said. “I heard the news about his death when I got up this morning. We had been in constant touch and were also planning a film together, but things didn’t work out. Last I heard that he was planning to fly off to Fiji for a film shoot. I am pained. May his soul rest in peace.”
