Sanjay Leela Bhansali screens Alia Bhatt’s Gangubai Kathiawadi in Los Angeles, ‘Women need to be heard, seen, and their stories need to be told’

MUMBAI : Known for his opulent and visually stunning films, Renowned filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali has not only fascinated audiences in India but has also left an indelible mark on the international podium. The filmmaker’s love for music is no secret and he has recently launched his own music label ‘Bhansali Music’.

Bansali, who is also lovingly called SLB, recently presented his film at the Los Angeles Aero Theatre. The theatre showcased Bansali’s superhit film Gangubai Kathiawadi starring Alia Bhatt in the lead.

During the screening, viewers were treated to a wonderful glimpse of Bhansali’s series Heeramandi. Speaking of his fascination with strong female characters, Bhansali explained, “We come from a land where we worship the Goddess. I’ve seen incredibly strong women throughout my life. Women need to be heard, seen, and their stories need to be told. They are the creators of mankind. We are all born to women-kind.”
