MUMBAI: Senior Actress Neena Gupta is making headlines as she shares various anecdotes from her personal and professional life in her autobiography titled 'Sach Kahun Toh'. The book was written by Neena last year and was launched by famous actress Kareena Kapoor Khan.
In a recent interview, Neena recalls reading news about her that had no truth to them. She says it was common to come across 'unbelievable' reports that were published about her, and even reacted to a particular news report suggesting that she had taken up a job as a 'salesgirl' at a carpet shop. She quotes-“So many times, you don't know what lies people have written about me. When I was very new here, I remember they wrote in some film magazine, 'Neena Gupta is working as a salesgirl in Shyam Ahuja's shop'."
She also mentions-“Believe me, I did not know who Shyam Ahuja was at that time. We couldn't afford Shyam Ahuja, I did not know who he is. I asked my friends about him. They said he has a carpet shop. Why? Why I was working (there)? Unbelievable. My fault; I feed them that."
Neena also shares that one piece of advice that she'd give her younger self is "Focus on your work; don't focus on men."
Besides that Neena has also opened up about several bad experiences in her book including one when Subhash Ghai demanded her to wear a ‘padded blouse’ during the shooting of the song ‘ Choli Ke Peeche Kya Hai’ and also she remembers how David Dhawan shouted at her on the set
