MUMBAI : Veteran actor Vikram Gokhale known for his performances in Marathi and Hindi films passed away today at the age of 75. A couple of days ago, there were reports that the actor has passed away and a few celebs including Ajay Devgn tweeted to mourn his demise. However, it turned out to be a hoax, and his family clarified that he was alive and on a ventilator.
A few hours ago, there were reports that he is still on the ventilator, but there are signs of improvement. But, unfortunately, now we have got the sad news that he is no more. A statement from his family reads, “Veteran actor Vikram Gokhale has died in Pune hospital where he was undergoing treatment.”
Vikram Gokhale started his journey in the 70s with Marathi plays, and later starred in Marathi and Hindi movies. The veteran actor is known for his performances in movies like Khuda Gawah, Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam, Tum Bin, Bhool Bhulaiyaa, De Dana Dan, Hichki, and others.
With different genres of films, Vikram Gokhale had proved his versatility as an actor. Not just movies, he had also done many TV shows like Udaan, Mera Naam Karegi Roshan, Sanjivani, and others.
His last release was this year’s release Nikamma in which he had a small role. For his Marathi movie Anumati, the veteran actor won the National Film Award for Best Actor. With his performances, the actor has left a strong mark in the audience's mind, and they will surely remember him.
