MUMBAI: Superstar Kamal Haasan, who is also a politician, underwent a leg surgery this morning at a Chennai hospital. He is expected to be discharged in four-five days. The actor had been travelling extensively to campaign for the April-May state election despite doctors advising him to rest. Due to an accident a few years back, he had undergone a leg surgery. Now, he was required to undergo a follow-up surgery.
Today, after the actor’s surgery, his daughter Shruti Haasan shared a letter sharing information about her his health.
She wrote, "We would like to begin by thanking you for your overwhelming support, prayers, and genuine concern regarding our father's recent medical procedure. We are happy to inform all of you that the surgery was a success!"

The surgery was performed at Sri Ramchandra Hospital in Chennai.
