Are controversies OVERPOWERING the PERFORMANCES in Nach Baliye 9?

MUMBAI: Along with daily soaps, what comes in as a breath of fresh air is reality shows!

While daily soaps dominate the screens the entire week, reality shows take over the weekend slots and provide a much-needed dose of laughter and entertainment to the audience. While some shows are family entertainers that people look forward to watching over dinner, others are watched for their spice and drama quotient.

One such reality show is Nach Baliye 9.

The celebrity couple based show has witnessed many popular faces shake a leg on stage. A few names would be Shweta Tiwari, Karishma Tanna, Asha Negi, Debina Bonerjee, Gurmeet Choudhary, and Jay Soni. However, this season witnesses a fine balance of humour, drama, and mild controversies that make the show all the more interesting. With ex-couples also participating in the show, controversies seem to have overpowered the performances.

Celebrity couples are working hard to give their best performances, but with disagreements with the judges to fights between the celebrity couples/ ex-couples, it looks like controversy is the focus of the show.

Megha Gupta, a BMM student, says, 'I am studying media, and I feel that without controversy, no show is interesting.'

Anupriya Sharma, her friend who is studying advertising, shares, 'I feel performance should be given as much importance, and yes, drama is an essential part, as it makes the show meatier.'

Romila Choudhary, a stationery store owner, said, 'I love watching the dance, and I think the show can be pulled off on the basis of performances only as there are so many celebrity faces associated with it!'

What is your say on the same?
