A while ago, he was detained by Delhi Police. Tehseen protested against Finance Minister Mrs. Nirmala Sitharaman's statement on the rising prices of onion in India.
Speaking exclusively to India Forums, Tehseen stated, 'The bizarre statement of the finance minister Mrs. Nirmala Sitharaman on the floor of the house that her family and she do not eat onions, should rightly be condemned as it smacks of arrogance. The common man is crippled due to the soaring onion prices and I took a sack of onions and a wheelchair to protest against the statement of the finance minister. The Delhi Police detained me without any reason even as I was peacefully speaking to the media and when I challenged them to file an FIR against me and questioned them on what law did I break, they took selfies with me and requested me to leave. Are we even a democracy any more that we can't peacefully ask our own ministers questions on why we have to suffer due to their policies.'
