Neha K Mehta, who essays Anjali Bhabhi in SAB TV’s successful show Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, is looking forward to a good stint as the anchor of SAB TV’s new show Waah Waah Kyaa Baat Hai (which airs tonight, 15 September 2012) which she anchors along with her on-screen husband of Taarak Mehta, Shailesh Lodha.
Talking about her role in the new show, Neha says, “I will keep the going lively and will bring smiles on people’s faces. I will also be a live audience for the poets and will appreciate their work.”
Neha who has earlier hosted several live events and reputed Gujarati award functions wants to thank producer Asit Modi of Neela Telefilms for recognising the talent in her. “Asit Modi my producer trusted me for this show as he felt I was a perfect combination of Indianism. I come from a family which has deep roots in Gujarati literature; my father is a song writer and poet. Through this show, I have got a chance to watch Hindi poetry rendition that too live.”
Talking about her co-actor Shailesh, Neha states, “Working with a talented artist like Shailesh is an honour. For the past three years, we were working on a genre (acting) which is my forte, but now it will be different as we are coming together on a platform where he has achieved excellence and this will be a learning curve for me. It will be a double bonus for the audience to see the combination of Anjali and Taarak now doing comedy in their real avatars.”
Speaking about her role as the co-anchor of Waah Waah, Neha says, “I represent the aam-admi who always has many questions to ask. I will also ask the poets to explain the heavy duty Hindi words and phrases so that the lay man understands better.”
Ask Neha whether she was added into the show as just the glamour element and she quickly butts in saying, “I am beautiful and if the same is presented in a more pleasant way, there is nothing better than that. But I can assure you that I will not be vulgar. I will always be dressed in ethnic outfits but if an episode demands for a modern outfit, I will be seen wearing miniskirts too.”
We wish Neha and Shailesh all the very best!!!
