Shows based on real life situations and real issues seem to be the flavour of the season. Youth oriented channel, Channel V, we have now learnt, will soon be airing a show on the life and times of swimmers.
The show which has been tentatively titled Valley High will revolve around a swimming coach, his pupils and his hot doctor-girlfriend. Leading production house Endemol India is producing this one for Channel V, is what we hear from sources.
Says a close hand, "It's an ambitious project for Endemol. The show has been modelled on the lines of Chak De with hockey having been replaced by swimming and will trace the trial and tribulations of the swimmers and how they emerged triumphant after surpassing great impediments with the help of a charismatic coach."
Model Amit Gour has apparently been roped in to essay the lead role of the coach. The show will see a total of three female and two male actors as swimmers. The casting for the show has been chosen based on their real life swimming abilities and one can get to see them perform stunning manoeuvre all by themselves in the show. While we await to unearth the names of the other starcast, we have also learnt that Pooja Bhamrah of Yeh Jawani Ta Ra Ri Ri fame has apparently been roped in to play Amit's girlfriend.
We texted Endemol's boss Deepak Dhar for a reaction but he remained unavailable for comment. Amit and Pooja too couldn't be reached for a comment.
We will soon come up with more updates.
