MUMBAI : Recently, actress Hina Khan made an unexpected announcement about her health, which put her in the spotlight. She announced a stage 3 diagnosis of breast cancer. Hina's outstanding performance in the television show Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai made her a household celebrity.
Not many people are aware that her goal was never to become an actress. Hina Khan even enrolled in a course to pursue her dream of being an air hostess before deciding to pursue acting. She had discussed this during an interview with the popular news portal.

Hina Khan's ambition of becoming an air hostess failed when she became ill with malaria just before starting the course. Hina's second goal was to work as a journalist, however, she was also unsuccessful in her efforts. She eventually tried her hand at acting during her time in college, making an audition for Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, which she thankfully passed.
Hina’s journey to stardom, however, was filled with setbacks. In an interview, Hina Khan revealed that she was once rejected for the role of a Kashmiri character because of her skin tone. Hina Khan, who hails from Kashmir, was evaluated to be too dusky for the part and the makers needed someone “extremely fair”.
“I can’t talk about the project, but I remember I could not crack a project because I didn’t look Kashmiri enough. I am Kashmiri and I can fluently speak the language but I didn’t get cast because my complexion is dusky and I am not extremely fair,” she was quoted as saying.
Besides Hina Khan, numerous other actresses have suffered from cancer and come out victorious.
