MUMBAI : Imlie is one of the most loved and successful shows on television. We saw a huge leap in the show after which Imlie and Chini are all grown up. The latest plot has been about Atharva and Imlie’s life post marriage.
Bobby Parvez is currently portraying Rudra Rana, Atharva’s father in the show. He is being immensely loved for his character and performance.
He is known for Stories by Rabindranath Tagore (2015), Black Friday (2004), and C.I.D. (1998).
TellyChakkar recently got in touch with the actor and got to know some interesting insights about the show and his character.
Before Megha Chakraborty, Sumbul Touqeer played the titular role and she was immensely loved for her performance. How do you feel about Megha playing the titular character?
“I feel Megha is absolutely exceptional, without a doubt. She is an amazing human being, an amazing actor. I have no words to describe her professionalism. I think she will absolutely live up to it. I mean it absolutely; I don’t praise lightly or else I stay shut about it. She is a great human being to be and work with.”

It hasn’t been that long since you started shooting for the second season. How are you bonding with your co-stars?
“I gel well with almost everybody. I am very open up about my life. I like working with Chaitrali who is playing my wife, Megha who is playing Imlie, and Karan who is playing Atharva. I like being with all of them and their company. I like Karan’s dedication; he is completely focussed and I admire that. Megha is also very committed to her work. Because in television, sometimes people feel or take television lightly. But I feel television has some of the best actors. The industry talks about films and not television, I think that is wrong. I feel we have some of the finest actors. I am having the time of my life.”
How similar or different is Rudra from you?
“We are completely different. I am very chilled out. I am maybe more like the son, Atharva. Though his discipline is something I would like to inculcate in myself and anybody else around. Apart from that, we are completely different. I rarely get angry or I rarely raise my voice.”
