MUMBAI: Star Plus’ Namah is going through major changes in the cast and the storyline.
Actor Vikkas Manaktala, who played the character of Lord Shiva, has been eased out of the show, paving the way for actor Tarun Khanna to step into his shoes. The storyline of the show will shift from Shiva and Vishnu's friendship to Vishnu Puran. Moreover, and title has been changed to ‘Namah — Lakshmi Narayan’.
TellyChakkar also reported about actress Chhavi Pandey walking out of the show and Rachna Parulekar being roped to play the role of Parvati (Read Here: Rachana Parulkar to replace Chhavi Pandey in Star Plus’ Namah).
TellyChakkar got in touch with Chhavi to know her side of the story.
The gorgeous actress said, 'The show did not really manage to strike a chord with the audience because of which the makers are trying hard to make the viable changes that would work in favour of the show. Due to these changes, I think I will not be able to do justice to myself as an actor. I was quite satisfied with the way the show and my character was shaping up. It was quite a challenging one, and the reason I took this role was to grow as an actor, which I believe will not be possible due to the creative changes in the show. Thus, I expressed my opinion and had a long discussion with our producer Ved Raj, who was quite understanding. We’ve mutually come to this decision of me quitting the show.'
Chhavi further added, 'I believe actors or makers can’t predict TRPs, and certain decisions are bound to be taken in order for shows to survive. There is no bad blood betweebln the makers or the channel and me. However small my journey was as Parvati, I enjoyed myself and I’m content with it. I wish all the best to the makers, and I hope and pray that show does wonders.'
Here’s wishing the actress all the best for her future projects.
